------------------------------ Money Town Version 1.0 News! ------------------------------ Congratulations on your purchase of Money Town! We know that you will have a great time exploring the program's many unique features. To supply you with up-to-the-minute information, we have included the following comments. (Note: If you are reading this text in Windows Notepad, please select "Word Wrap" from the "Edit" menu.) Sound ----- Money Town requires a Windows compatible sound card that supports asynchronous playback. Asynchronous playback is the ability to play animation and sound simultaneously. Aztech's Sound Galaxy BX II sound card does not support asynchronous playback. If you experience sound problems with the Ensoniq sound card: * Click on the Control Panel Icon from the Main Program group. * Click on the Drivers Icon. * Select "Soundscape DVD MIDI, WAVE, AUX". * Under the section 'Wave Playback DMA", set "Wave A" to "0". * Click on the "Test" button and verify that the status line at the bottom says "Driver OK". * Choose "OK". * Exit the Control Panel by double clicking on the upper left menu bar. * You may have to exit and re-enter Windows if changes were made. For further information, contact Ensoniq at (610) 647-3930. Video ----- If you are using an ATI Mach 32 and video problems should occur when you are running Money Town, verify you have the most current video drivers installed on your computer system. The most current version as of 11/4/94 of the ATI Mach 32 Windows Driver is 2.3. You can verify the most current version by running the Flexdesk Control Panel and clicking on the "help/about" menu. To manually change the "DeviceBitmaps=" line to "OFF": * Go into the "File Manager" located in the Main Program group. * Click once on the Windows directory. * Within the Windows directory, locate the file called "WIN.INI". * Once you have located the file, double click on this file. * This will take you to the Notepad for the "WIN.INI" file. * Scroll down until you see a section called "Mach". * Find the line that begins with "DeviceBitmaps=". * Verify the line says "DeviceBitmap=OFF". * If "DeviceBitmap=OFF" is not set to "OFF", manually change the setting to "OFF". * Then click on "File" and "Save". * Exit Notepad. * Exit Windows and re-boot the computer. If you do not have the most current video drivers, contact ATI Customer Support at (905) 882-2626, or the ATI BBS at (905) 764-9494. MIDI ------------- If the MIDI sequencer warning dialog box appears, click the "Don't display this warning in future" checkbox and then "OK". -End
